Iranian short ‘Tattoo’ to attend Beirut filmfest

Iranian short ‘Tattoo’ is to attend the Beirut Women’s Film Festival in Lebanon.

Iranian short ‘Tattoo’ has been set to attend the Beirut Women’s Film Festival (BWFF) in Lebanon.

Directed by Farhad Delaram, the 15-minute flick will be in competition at the short films section of the 3rd edition of the Lebanese event.

“To extend her driver’s license, she faces some problems due to having tattoos’’, reads a brief synopsis for the film.

‘Tattoo’ has already attended a number of international events and won some awards, including the Best Actress award of the 37th Sulmona International Film Festival in Italy which went to Behdokht Valian, the star of the flick.

In the year 2019, the film got acceptance from the 69th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

Delaram, the director of the flick has so far made some six short films and documentaries. His short flick ‘Away from Home’ attended last year's edition of the House of Cinema Celebration in Iran.

This year's edition of the BWFF will be held under the theme of ‘Women for Leadership’. According to the festival’s official website, the theme has been set to highlight “the role of women as leaders in their societies”.

The 3rd BWFF is slated for March 8-13, 2020.
